With University academic technology tools, you can create and teach, or learn, with online resources in face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses.

Services & Technologies

Classroom Recording

Record and share presentations, lectures, meetings, and mobile video from any office or classroom.

Course & Media Production

Work with academic technologists and media specialists to create learning resources for your course, such as Moodle sites, online learning modules, learning objects, video demonstrations and simulations, and more. This service is free of charge to University faculty and staff.

Computer Labs, Learning Spaces, & Testing Centers

University students, faculty, and staff from all departments may drop in and use networked computers, professional software suites, scanners, printers, and related equipment in OIT computer labs on the Twin Cities campus. University faculty and staff may also reserve available spaces for class and University-sponsored events. With AppToGo, students can access University-licensed Windows software applications from anywhere in the world, on almost any device with an internet connection.

Course Management System (Moodle & Related Software)

Create and teach with online activities and materials in your courses, such as discussions, forums, gradebook, polls, presentations, quizzes, and more.

Emerging Technologies

Work with academic technologists to understand the value of emerging technologies, highlight areas of innovation at the University, and provide evidence-based recommendations for advancing select technologies to University-wide usage.

Media Processing & Management

Use a suite of tools to upload, host, and distribute videos that you can use for teaching or student assignments.

Support for Teaching with Technology

Consult with staff who have who have expertise in instructional design and teaching strategies about ways to effectively incorporate technology into your teaching practice. This service is University funded so there is no charge to University faculty and staff.

Surveys & Polling Software

Collect information from a variety of audiences and produce reports about the results.

Web Conferencing

Host or participate in ad hoc and scheduled online meetings with audiences of up to 1,000 people.
