The Assignment (Re)Design Lab: Crafting Authentic Assignments in the GenAI Era

Are you interested in exploring what assignment design means in an age of AI? The Assignment (Re)Design Lab: Crafting Authentic Assignments in the GenAI Era is a space for you to do so in a supportive, collegial environment. Instructors will spend the day designing or redesigning an assignment on May 14 from 9:00am-4:45pm, 312 Bruininks Hall, Twin Cities.

All perspectives on AI are welcomed, whether one’s goal is integrating AI into assignments or not. With support from facilitators, concrete examples of revised assignments, and brief presentations, participants will iterate, design, test, and revise course materials throughout the day. Participants will leave with a developed draft of a new or redesigned assignment that has received constructive feedback along with an action plan for next steps.
