New in January 2026: Media owners, co-editors, co-publishers, and co-viewers can now organize the media items in their My Media page using My Folders. Folders you create are personal to you; other users who have permissions on your media will not see your folders. Read more about Kaltura permissions.
Folders you create in My Media in Canvas also appear in My Media in Kaltura MediaSpace, when using Add Media Using Kaltura in the Canvas Rich Content Editor, and in some other locations.
Creating Folders
- Go to My Media using one of these two options:
- Log in to Canvas, then from the Account menu, select My Media (Kaltura).
- Log in to MediaSpace.
- The My Media page appears.
- Note: If you are using a mobile device, tablet, or small window, select Filters.
- Under My Folders, select + (Create Folder) to open the Create folder window.
- Enter a Name and Choose a folder location.
- Select Create.
Adding Media to Existing Folders
- Go to My Media.
- Select checkbox(es) next to media item(s).
- In the More actions menu, select Add to folders to open the Add/Remove from folders window.
- Select the checkbox(es) for the folders you want the media to appear in.
- Select Update.
OR
- Go to My Media.
- Drag and drop a single media item into the desired folder.
- For multiple items, select them using the checkboxes, then drag and drop into the folder.
Viewing Folder Contents
When you visit My Media, all media items appear whether or not they are in folders. To view folder contents:
- Go to My Media.
- Note: If you are using a mobile device, tablet, or small window, select Filters.
- Select My Folders.
- Select a folder name to show the media items in that folder OR select Unfiled media to show media items not in a folder.
