STE-SDB Telephone: Phone Features

This guide is specifically for the analog (single-line) phone model Telematrix LP550.

Help Desk

  1. Press SPKR or lift handset.
  2. Press Helpdesk button to dial the OIT helpline.

Call Forward On

  1. Press SPKR or lift handset.
  2. Press Call Forward On.
  3. Enter campus number. You'll hear the confirmation of 2 beeps. The calls now ring to the other number.

Call Forward Off

  1. Press Call Forward Off. You'll hear the confirmation of 2 beeps. The calls now ring to the original number.

Call ID

Caller ID data is only stored in phone after 2nd ring. The call waiting ID information is available if the feature is active.

Displaying Caller ID Data

  1. Press [Up/Down Arrow] to select record.

Displaying Call Waiting ID

  • The tone indicates a second call waiting.
  • Call waiting message light indicates second call waiting.
  • Caller ID information for second call waiting appears on LCD.
  • Caller ID information for second call waiting is stored in records.

Delete

Deleting Caller ID Messages

  1. Press [Up/Down Arrow] to desired entry.
  2. Press Delete. "Delete?" appears in display.
  3. Press Delete Button to delete.

Deleting All Stored Information

  1. Press [Up/Down Arrow] to activate.
  2. Press and hold Delete button for 6 seconds. The LCD displays "Delete All?"
  3. Press Delete button. The record is deleted.

Dial

Calling from a Stored Number

  1. Press [Up/Down Arrow] to select outside number.
  2. Press [Dial] to place call. The 8 for outside dialing is automatically added to the call.

Disconnect

To end a call or exit store programming:

  1. Press DISC to disconnect from call. This may be used with a handset and headset.

Flash

To access Telephone Features:

  • The Flash is the same as switchhook and is also used to store the tone in programming features.

Headset Button

  • When using the headset, depress button to turn headset On or Off.

Hold

Placing a Call on Hold

  1. With the call on line, press Hold.
  2. Hang up (another call may be placed).

Retrieving a Held Call

  1. Press SPKR or lift handset.
  2. Press Hold as system announces "Held." The call is retrieved.

Answering Call Waiting Using Hold and SPKR

  1. When you hear the call waiting tone, press Hold.
  2. Press SPKR. The incoming call is on line.
  3. Press SPKR. The call ends and the phone rings.
  4. Press SPKR. The holding call is on line.

Mute

Muting Using a Handset or Speaker.

  1. Press Mute (lamp blinks). You can hear the caller, they cannot hear you.

Removing Mute from a Speaker or Handset

  1. Press Mute (lamp on). You can hear the caller and the caller can hear you.

Open Buttons

Open buttons on the phone may be used to store Abbreviated Dial numbers, or desired Feature Codes.

Programming Open Button

  1. Press SPKR or lift handset for dialtone.
  2. Press Store.
  3. Press your selected open button.
  4. Dial phone number or feature code to be store (remember to use an "8" for phone numbers).
  5. Press Store again.
  6. Use the letters on the dialpad to name the selected button.
  7. Press Store one last time to save your programming.
  8. Hang up.

Using Programmed Button

  1. Press SPKR or lift handset for dial tone.
  2. Press programmed feature button.

Redial

Redialling The Last Off Campus Call.

  1. Press SPKR or lift handset.
  2. Press REDIAL. The system dials the call.

Speaker

Answering and Dialling Calls

  1. Press SPKR (lamp on).

Switch Handset to Speakerphone

  1. With the call on line, using the handset, press SPKR (lamp on).
  2. Replace handset.

Switch Speakerphone to Handset

  1. Lift handset (lamp off).

Store

  • Store is used to program speed dialing keys.

Transfer

Transfer on Campus

  1. Press Transfer.
  2. When you hear the dial tone, dial the 5 digit phone number.
  3. Hang up.

Transfer Off Campus

  1. Press Transfer. You will hear the dial tone.
  • University Customers:
    1. Dial [8] area code + phone number.
  • Fairview Customers:
    1. Dial [9] area code + phone number.
    2. Hang up.

Voicemail Red Touchlite

Accessing Voicemail

University Customers:

  1. Press SPKR or lift handset.
  2. When you hear the dial tone, press the Voicemail Button or [*][5]. You will hear the voicemail prompt.

Fairview Customers:

  1. Press SPKR or lift handset.
  2. When you hear the dial tone, dial the assigned Fairview voicemail number. You will hear the voicemail prompt.

Important: University phones with voicemail light indication features do not work with the Fairview voicemail system. They do not light when voicemail is present.
