Perceptive Experience: Searching and Viewing Documents

Perceptive Experience is the HTML5 web app for the Imaging Service at the University of Minnesota. This document details how to use Perceptive Experience to find and view documents.

 

  1. Log into Perceptive Experience
  2. Choose "Documents" from the home page

  3. Click the view or filter that you'd like to open
    • A list of views available to you will display on the left-hand side of the page
    • If you don't see a list on the left, click on the icon with three horizontal lines to toggle the menu on and off

  4. Searching for documents
    1. Click Search in [view name] to construct a search within the documents for the selected view
    2. The Add Constraint: section will appear:

    3. Use the drop down menus to select the parameters for the search
    4. Click Add

    5. To add an additional constraint, click Add in the search bar

    6. Click Search when finished setting search parameters. A list of results will display:

  5. Click on a document in the list to open it
    perceptive experience document open
     
  6. Use the toolbars at the top and bottom of the page to manipulate the document
    • e.g., annotate, zoom in/out, export to file/PDF, etc.
    • If you do not have permission to use a button, you will see it but will not be able to use it
    • Mouse over a button to view its function
