Overview

Squarecap is an active learning software that allows instructors to track attendance, encourage participation, and provide students with immediate feedback in class.

Getting Started

Squarecap is not currently available as a Canvas integration at UMN.

ChimeIn is a UMN-created and supported tool that has some of the same functionality as Squarecap. Visit the ChimeIn page for more information.
iClicker and iClick Cloud may also have similar functionality as Squarecap.

Future phase: Integrated

The Fall 2023 request to integrate Squarecap with Canvas was not prioritized due to capacity limitations during a November 2023 DiaLOG Governance review.
The Fall 2025 request to integrate Squarecap with Canvas was not prioritized due to capacity limitations during a November 2025 DiaLOG Governance review.

Requests (new and old) are welcome. Requests from a variety of stakeholders improve chances of prioritization.
