Perceptive Experience: Review Capture Options

Documents or files can be captured in Perceptive Experience in several ways. With multiple methods available, depending on your business process, the Document Management Team will help you choose appropriately.

Please read below for an overview of each method and links to more detailed documentation.

Note: The desktop client is not needed for these methods of capturing.

Print 

Mimics how you would print a file, but instead of choosing a hardware printer, you will select a virtual printer and send the printed file to Perceptive using your default web browser. 

  • File Format after import: TIF image file allowing for annotations
  • Supported on: Windows
  • Required Software: Hyland Virtual Printer and Web Scan Toolkit

Perceptive Experience Print Instructions

Scan 

Using a hardware scanner, you can scan a paper document directly into Perceptive in your web browser.

  • File Format after import: TIF image file allowing for annotations
  • Supported on: Windows
  • Required Software: Hyland Virtual Printer and Web Scan Toolkit

Perceptive Experience Scan Instructions

File 

Allows you to upload any file to Perceptive. Please note that with this method, if you need to annotate the file in Perceptive, then additional configuration will be required to convert the file to TIF format after upload.

  • Required Software: No additional software required

Note: In order to use annotations, a file needs to be in TIF format. If a file is being captured via the File method and needs to be annotated, please submit a request to the Document Management Team for options to have the file converted to TIF after it has been imported.
