Canvas: Use SpeedFIXIT in UDOIT to correct common accessibility errors

You can use SpeedFIXIT within the UDOIT accessibility checker in Canvas to review suggestions to fix common accessibility errors in course content and files, including:

  • Image alt text: Automatically identifies and fixes missing, generic (e.g., "image.png"), overly long, or link-embedded alternative text.
  • Color contrast: Suggests accessible color alternatives and formatting for low-contrast text to ensure readability.

Using SpeedFIXIT in UDOIT to correct alt text and color contrast errors

  1. In your Canvas course, select Check Accessibility with UDOIT in the course navigation menu.

  2. Wait for the UDOIT scan to complete. Once finished, select the Continue button to view your accessibility score and the list of issues.
