Perceptive Content version 26.1 Upgrade in 2027
The 26.1 release introduces many platform improvements with a more modern and accessible user interface.
Another important change is that the Perceptive Content desktop client will be deprecated, and the Perceptive Experience web application will become the go-to access point for all Perceptive Content users.
Business units currently using the Perceptive desktop application will be transitioned to the web application prior to the v26.1 upgrade. The vendor will deliver new features only in the web application and moving to Perceptive Experience now ensures users have continued access to the latest product enhancements.

Key Dates & Upgrade Preview
- Oct - Nov: The v.26.1 development environment will be available for you to preview and test. We highly recommend that you become familiar with the changes and provide any feedback to the Document Management team if necessary.
- Dec - Feb: Test and Production environment upgrades will follow with more definitive dates to be announced.
Moving from desktop client to web client
With the version 26.1 upgrade, all Perceptive Content users must use the Perceptive Experience web application starting in early 2027. The Document Management Support Team will work with business units currently using the local desktop client to transition to the web client prior to the v26.1 upgrade.
While the desktop client has served us well, the web client offers several advantages that align to a more modern, agile workplace:
- Flexibility: Access your documents and workflows from any modern browser.
- Reduced maintenance: Say goodbye to local software installs.
- Performance and Stability: The web client offers a snappier interface for indexing and searching.
- Future Readiness:With v26.1, the vendor will deliver new features only in the web application Moving away from the desktop client ensures users have continued access to the latest enhancements.
Start using Perceptive Experience web client
- If you only view and route documents in Perceptive, you can start using Perceptive Experience today. We highly encourage you to do so in order to become familiar with it before the upgrade.
- Sign in to Perceptive Experience
- If you currently scan and/or print documents into Perceptive using the desktop client, the Document Management team will contact you to migrate your capture process into Perceptive Experience.
- Business units should expect to be moved to Perceptive Experience by early 2027.
Next steps for impacted users
- If you only view and route documents: You can use Perceptive Experience today. Sign in to Perceptive Experience to familiarize yourself with the platform.
- If you scan and/or print documents: The Document Management team will contact you to migrate your capture process to Perceptive Experience.
- Business units should expect to move to Perceptive Experience by early 2027.
