The Integration Team partners with colleges and units across the University system to provide application and data integration solutions. We are dedicated to defining, creating, and supporting products identified for the delivery of broad common data integration needs at the University of Minnesota.

What the Integration Team Does

Provide Common Data Layer

The University’s Common Data Layer (CDL), is a collection of common good datasets built as relational database tables, that provide uniform and governed data to University users for system integrations. The data available in the CDL reflects the current state of the data from the system of record. The University’s integration team:

• Delivers reliable common good datasets made available through the CDL
• Maintains the integrity of data brought into the CDL by aligning with University data security policies and practices
• Ensures timely and reliable access to the data made available through the CDL

Build and Deploy Common Integration Processes

The Integration Team works closely with colleges and units across the university to support systems integrations through a variety of processes, including:

• Developing and maintaining common good APIs, which allows systems to call an (API) interface that provides predefined single or groups of data fields
• Working to identify custom integrations solutions if an existing API does not meet the system requirements, including consulting with colleges and units who build their own integrations connections
• Maintaining scheduled batch processes; packaging data for systems to consume
