This article provides troubleshooting instructions to re-enable WiFi connection to those who have been temporarily blocked from University WiFi on Lenovo and iOS devices.

Lenovo Devices
Option 1: Disabling Location Service
Location services can be disabled for only the Lenovo Vantage app or for all apps on the device.
Disabling For a Specific App
- Open the Start menu
.
- Click on the Settings option .
- Select Privacy.
- From the side menu, select Location.
- Scroll down to your apps list and turn the toggle for Lenovo Vantage to off.
- Wait 60 minutes to check your network connectivity.
Disabling for All Apps
Note: Turning location off for all apps will also disable other location based features like Microsoft's find a lost device feature, but protects the privacy of your location.
- Open the Start menu

- Click on the Settings option .
- Click Privacy.
- Select the location settings in the sidebar.
- Click Change.
- Turn location services off.
- Wait 60 minutes to check your network connectivity.
Option 2: Removing Lenovo Vantage Software
- Uninstall Lenovo Vantage
- Search for Lenovo Vantage in your Start Menu.
- Right-click on the Lenovo Vantage icon
. A context menu appears.
- Select Uninstall.
- Uninstall Lenovo System interface foundation
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand the System devices category.
- Right-click on System Interface Foundation V2 Device. A context menu appears.
- Choose Uninstall.
- Restart your device.
- Wait 60 minutes to check your network connectivity.
iOS Devices
- Open the Settings on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod, then tap Wi-Fi or WLAN.
- Tap the information button
next to your network.
- Students, Staff, and Faculty select eduroam.
- Guests of the University, select UofM-Guest.
- Turn off Private Address.
- Re-join the network.
