When you can remember the name of a technician but not the Responsible Group(s) to which they belong, you can find their group(s) using the Search Filter to find tickets already assigned to that person.

Finding the correct Responsible Group for a technician
- Click in the ID/Search field and press Enter to activate the Search Filter.
- Click the Filter icon
. A filter options pane appears from the right listing all the ticket fields associated with the ticket type.
- Scroll to the Responsibility field.
- Enter the name of the technician for whom you are trying to find their group(s).
- Scroll up to the top of the filter column and click Apply to run the filter. The filter pane closes and a list of tickets appears..
- Find one of the tickets that contains the technician's name in the Pri Resp column.
- If the user has no tickets, go to Finding the correct Responsible Group for a technician with no tickets (on this page below).
- Click on their name. An Assignments for … window opens.
- Scan the right side of the page for a list of Groups the technician belongs to.
- Some people may only belong to only one group while others may belong to multiple groups.
- Some people may only belong to only one group while others may belong to multiple groups.
Finding the correct Responsible Group for a technician with no tickets
If a technician does not have any tickets, do the following:
- Click the Application menu and select the People App.
- Search for the name of the technician you need.
- Click on their name to open their profile.
- Copy/paste their profile ID number (everything after U= at the end of the URL) into a note.
- In the example below, the user's profile ID is highlighted: https://tdx.umn.edu/TDNext/Apps/People/PersonDet.aspx?U=5d091ca7-3638-ea11-a81b-000d3a56766d
- Copy/paste the following URL into a new tab: https://tdx.umn.edu/TDNext/Apps/29/Tickets/AssignmentProfile/
- Paste the technician's profile ID number to the end of the URL. When you refresh the tab, you should see their Assignments page with their Groups listed on the right.
