Many requests in TeamDynamix require the approval of a supervisor prior to being fulfilled. TeamDynamix has both supervisor validation and delegation in place to ensure that the request for approval is being sent to the appropriate supervisor for timely action.
Supervisor Validation
When a request is submitted, TeamDynamix performs a validation check on the Supervisor listed in the ticket. This check looks at the Requestor in the ticket and then reaches out to the Common Data Layer (CDL) to confirm that the supervisor listed in the ticket for that Requestor is correct. As many users have multiple supervisors, the system only checks to ensure that the supervisor entered in the form is one of that user's supervisors.
Supervisor Delegation
Supervisors can request that a delegate be sent their supervisor approvals for a period of time. During that time period, any supervisor approvals will be sent to the delegate in place of the original Supervisor. In order to request a delegate:
- Submit a TeamDynamix Supervisor Delegation request. This must be submitted by the supervisor requesting the delegate.
- Specify who your delegate approver will be
- Note that each supervisor can have only one delegate at a time
- Specify the Start Date for the delegation
- Determine if this is a temporary or permanent delegation
- If you select Temporary, you will be prompted to enter an End Date as well. Temporary delegates will receive supervisor approvals only during the specified date range. After the end date for the delegation period, the supervisor approvals will revert to the original supervisor for approvals.
- Permanent delegates will receive supervisor approvals indefinitely, until a new TeamDynamix Supervisor Delegation request is submitted to request that they be ended.
Things to Consider
- If a supervisor is entered into the form that does not match one of the Requestor's confirmed supervisors, the request will be cancelled. It will need to be resubmitted with the correct supervisor.
- Supervisor delegates are not cascading, so the system will not send approvals to the delegate of a delegate. Only the selected supervisor's delegate will be considered.
