You may get a variety of error messages when attempting to reset your password. Follow the solutions below to successfully reset your password.

Password reset questions page error

an error message that reads "There was 1 error that prevented this form from submitting. Please correct any highlighted fields below and try again."

This error message appears on the page that asks you to answer all three password reset questions and to set a new password. Even though the error message says "there was 1 error," it will appear for any of the following errors:

  • One or more of the password reset question answers are incorrect.
  • Your new password does not follow the password requirements.
  • Your new password is not correctly typed in the Confirm New Password field.

Carefully re-enter all information into the fields on the page and click Submit to retry changing your password.

Password Requirements Error

Any of these messages mean that your new password does not meet the requirements for passwords. Try a different password according to the listed requirements:

  • Must be at least 16 character(s) long.
  • The first character of the password should be a letter.
  • Must contain at least 2 alphabetic characters total, 1 of which must be an uppercase letter (A-Z)
  • Must not contain any of the user ID, first name or last name when their length is larger than 2 (for example, if your user ID is john001, the new password cannot contain the characters "joh" but could include "jo").
