Programmed Feature Button: Call Forward (CFWD)

This guide will describe how to use the Call Forward feature on phones commonly found on campus. This article discusses on-campus call forwarding only, and off-campus call forwarding must be ordered separately (see Additional Information).

Successful completion of the steps described in this article will result in all calls being forwarded to the destination number of your choosing, which can even be the voicemail inbox extension 6-0001 or 3-9001. The steps needed to remove this setting are also outlined in this article.

To determine what type of phone you have, consult our Phone Model Quick Reference.

Additional Information

The Feature Access Codes (* 3, # 3) described in the Analog section also work on Digital Phones. An incoming call will have one short ring, which alerts you that call forwarding is still active, but the call is then forwarded to the specified destination. The forwarding destination phone number is the only number that can place and transfer calls to the original phone number.

Most importantly the phone needs to be in the correct Class of Service (COS) to allow for this "Off Campus Call Forwarding".

The off-campus call forwarding feature can be ordered by submitting a Voice & Data Request form.
