Jadu Dashboard: Set up Filters in Jadu Connect

Dashboard filters in Jadu Connect define which cases appear in the UMN Case List widget on a dashboard homepage. They also determine which columns are displayed to the user. Each team should tailor filters to support their specific process and audience.

About Dashboard Filters

  • Jadu Connect Filters pull in the cases that users will see on a dashboard.
  • The UMN Case List widget references these filters to present the data in an accessible, user-friendly layout.
  • Multiple widgets can be added to a homepage, each using a different filter.

Important Notes and Best Practices

  • Testing is recommended: Always create and test your filters in the Test environment before replicating them in Production.
  • Public Filters: All Dashboard Filters must be saved as public to be used in the dashboard.
    • The Case Builder role is required to save public filters.
    • Although a filter is public, users will only see cases that they have permission to access.
  • Global Fields: Only global fields can be added as columns to a case filter. If you need to use a service-specific field, contact the Document Management team to update your case type and cases to use a global version of that field.

Creating a Dashboard Filter

  1. Create the filter: Follow the steps in Jadu Connect: View and Filter Cases to create the filter and its criteria.
  2. Add columns: Add the fields you want to display to the end user in the homepage widget. Refer to Case Filter Best Practices for guidance on which columns to choose.
    • Note: Column order cannot be changed; however, you can optionally re-name the column titles for better usability within the UMN Case List configuration.
  3. Save the filter:
    • Click the Save button.
    • The Save filter pop-up will appear.
Jadu Dashboard Save Filter pop-up, prompting for a Filter title and Filter visibility.
  • Filter Title: Give the filter a unique and descriptive title.
    • It must be prefixed with your category/service (e.g., [T-OIT-DMT]). The Document Management team will rename any public filters that don't have this prefix.
    • Suggested format: [Category] {Process Name} - {Audience/Purpose}.
      • Example: [T-ASR] Academic Policy Petition - College/Program Review.
  • Filter visibility: Choose Everyone from the dropdown list.
  1. Click Save to finalize the filter.
