We must implement IPv6 to ensure that all of our customers can reach our services. Most mobile and broadband providers are using IPv6 and many of our colleagues, especially those in other countries, have adopted IPv6. Therefore, to align with the University of Minnesota's values, implementing IPv6 supports our institution's links to the external world keeping us competitive and sustaining our relationships with our fellow researchers, international students, and potential faculty around the world. A significant portion of Internet traffic is using IPv6 and there's no way IPv4 can connect all of the people in the world.
