Grouper: Set Other Privileges on a Group

Groups are made up of entities. An entity is either a person, or another group. Adding an entity to a group will make the entity a member. If the entity is another group, then all members are indirect members of the group.

Certain members might need additional privileges: for example, an entity might have the Admin privilege so they can modify the membership or assign privileges to members, or an entity might have the Update privilege so they can attest the membership when required.

If a privilege is given to a group, then all members of that group will have the privilege.

  1. Select My groups in the Quick links section of the left navigation. A table is displayed showing all of your groups.
  2. Select the Group and go to the Privileges tab. The group information page is displayed.
  3. Select the Actions button in the last column for the person or group.
  4. Select Edit membership and privileges. The membership and privileges page is displayed for the person.
  5. Set the privileges by checking the boxes in the Direct Group Privileges row.
  6. Select Save. A confirmation message appears in green at the top of the page, and the list of members is displayed.
