Coursera: Register and Log In

Coursera for Minnesota gives University of Minnesota students, staff, and faculty access to more than 2,000 Coursera courses and specializations (sets of courses in a specific area) from over 70 universities. 

Learners can register at no charge. 

Note: The free Coursera courses for Minnesota do not provide UMN academic credit (faculty may use the content of the Coursera courses, however, as part of their regular classes).

Registering

Important: If you already have a separate personal Coursera account, you will need to logout before following the steps below for registering your Coursera for Minnesota account.

1. Select the Coursera landing page for the content the you wish to access (students, you may need to use both):
   • UMN Coursera courses
   • non-UMN Coursera courses
2. In the center of the page, click Join.
3. Select Log in with University of Minnesota. You will be redirected to a University sign-in portal.
4. Enter your University Internet ID and password and sign in.
5. You will be notified that you're invited to join Coursera for Minnesota. You need to select Join Program in order to use Coursera for Minnesota.
   • Agreeing allows the University to track your grades and activities in the Coursera for Minnesota learning program.
6. You may begin browsing the catalog. All courses and specializations should now show up as Enroll for Free.

Logging-in

After registering for a Coursera for Minnesota account (on this page), you can log in using your University account

1. Select Log In in the top right corner of the University's Coursera landing page for the content the you wish to access (students, you may need to use both):
   • UMN Coursera courses
   • non-UMN Coursera courses
2. Select Log in with University of Minnesota. You will be redirected to a University sign-in portal.
3. Enter your Internet ID and password and sign in.
