General Instructions
CBS provides a Student Printing Credit that can be used at the listed locations. CBS printers will automatically use any available printing credit before defaulting to Gopher Gold accounts. Please remember to 'Sign Off' when you are done with your print job.
Printer Locations
- Minneapolis: Moos Tower - BioCommon Student Lounge (Moos 2-585)
- St. Paul: Biological Sciences Center - Basement (hallway near BioSci 15)
- St. Paul: Biological Sciences Center - 3rd floor - Foundations of Biology Learning Common
Printing in Moos Tower BioCommons Student Lounge
The BioCommons has desktops computers available which are already connected to the printer. Just click print and the correct printer should already be selected.
If you would like to WiFi print from your personal computer, follow these steps. Please ensure you are connected to eduroam before attempting these steps.
- Select the appropriate link for your operating system:
- Follow on-screen install instructions to install driver software.
- When you're ready to print, choose the "CBS_Moos2-585_Laser" printer.
- Click the print button and enter your internet ID into the Pharos screen that pops up.
- Go to the printer and swipe your U Card below the screen.
- Choose 'Print Release' and select the job you wish to print and hit the print button.
- The balance will be automatically subtracted from your CBS print account.
- Please remember to 'Sign Off' once your print job has completed.
Printing in Biological Sciences - Basement or 3rd Floor
The BioSci printers do not have any desktops available for printing so all printing must be done on WiFi from personal computers.
Follow these steps to print from your personal computer and please ensure you are connected to eduroam before attempting these steps. (Note: The same print queue works on either printer in BioSci. When you print to "CBS-BioSci-Printers-WiFi" you can release your print job on either the basement printer or the 3rd floor printer.)
- Before installing new printer drivers, please delete any printers with the name "CBS_BioSci64Hall_Laser" or "CBS-BioSci-Printer."
- Select the appropriate link for your operating system:
- BioSci - Windows Printing
- BioSci - macOS Printing
- Follow on-screen install instructions for installation.
- When you're ready to print, choose the "CBS-BioSci-Printers-WiFi" printer.
- Click the print button and enter your internet ID into the pharos screen that pops up.
- Go to either printer (Basement or 3rd floor) and swipe your U Card.
- Choose 'Print Release' and select the job you wish to print and hit the print button.
- The balance will be automatically subtracted from your CBS print account.
- Please remember to 'Sign Off' once your print job has completed.
Troubleshooting
- If your printing fails, please follow OIT's refund policy.
- If the printer has a jam, you may attempt to follow on screen instructions. If the printer reports a technical issue, you may restart the printer to see if that helps.
