Microsoft: Set Up Duo as Authentication for Microsoft Services

The University uses Duo for multifactor authentication. Some Microsoft products may prompt for Microsoft Authenticator as the authentication method when first signing in. Follow these instructions for setting up Duo as the authentication method for Microsoft authenticated services such as Office 365.

Setting Up Duo as the Authenticaiton Method for Microsoft Authenticated Services

  1. If you are presented with the following screen to get started, then you will need to setup Duo to be able to use Duo with Microsoft SSO.  Click Next to continue.Screenshot with text, "Let's keep your account secure.   2. You will then be presented with a screen to install Microsoft Authenticator.  Select Set up a different way to sign in.

  3. You will then be asked to add a sign-in method.  Select External Auth methods.

  4. You should then see a page like the one below to set up a sign-in-method. Click Next to authenticate with Duo.
