Jadu Dashboard: Work with Team Queues and Use the Take Responsibility Feature

The Take Responsibility feature in the UMN Case List widget enables collaborative case management within a team. When activated, all team members can:

  • View and work from a shared list of cases
  • Claim primary ownership of individual cases
  • Quickly identify who is responsible for each case

Prerequisite Setup

To use the Take Responsibility feature, ensure the UMN Case List widget is properly configured with the additional Team Queue settings enabled

Button Behavior and Views 

Note: The Take Responsibility button will always appear in the Responsible Person - Email column. The column header can be renamed to a user friendly identifier in the UMN Case list widget settings.

Unclaimed case

  • Only the Take responsibility button appears in the column

Case Claimed by Another Team Member

  • The email address of the current responsible person displays
  • The Take responsibility button appears below the email, allowing other users to assume ownership.

Case Claimed by You:

  • The word You is displayed in place of an email address

How to Take Responsibility

For an Unclaimed Case

  1. Select the Take responsibility button. A confirmation modal will appear.

  2. In the modal, confirm by clicking Take Responsibility. To cancel, select Cancel or Close.
  3. After confirming, the column will update to display You with a green checkmark and success indicator. 
    • This success message disappears after the next widget or homepage refresh.

From Another Team Member

  1. Select the Take responsibility button. A modal will appear displaying the currently responsible team member's email.

  2. In the modal, confirm by clicking Take Responsibility. To cancel, select Cancel or Close.
  3. After confirming, the Responsible Person - Email column will update to display You with a green checkmark and success indicator. 
    • This success message disappears after the next widget or homepage refresh.

Note: If you also display Responsible Person - Name column in your widget, it will be updated after the next widget or homepage refresh

Automatic Case Field Updates

When a user takes responsibility for a case, the following case fields are automatically updated in Connect:

  • Responsible Person - Email: updated with the user's email address.
  • Responsible Person - Name:  updated with the user's full name.
