Capabilities are entities that represent a significant effort that spans multiple Agile Release Trains (ARTs). They are intended to be completed in a single Planning Interval (PI).
Capabilities can be created by Release Train Engineers (RTE) and Product Managers (PM), or by Product Owners (PO) in consultation with their RTE or PM.
Creating a Capability
- Navigate to Capability Backlog.
- Expand Capabilities, and then select Capability Backlog from the left navigation menu.
- Apply filters as needed.
- Refer to Filtering the Content of a View or Folder for instructions.
- Select the + icon next to the Capabilities column header
- Enter the Name of the Capability.
- Verify that the correct Portfolio and Solution Train are specified.
- Select Add & Open to add details to the Capability you just created.
- Select Add to continue adding more Capabilities.
- Expand the Assignments section of the Capability details.
- Assign all Agile Release Trains that are involved in the Capability.
- Assign a Capability Owner who is the primary contact for the Capability.
