New Gemini features in Google Workspace available now!

University of Minnesota faculty and staff who have opted in to Google Gemini will begin to see Gemini features integrated into Docs, Slides, and Forms. 

Note: it may take up to two weeks for new features to appear.

New Features

• Gemini in Docs: Create content in seconds with Help me write and Gemini in the side panel of Docs.
• Gemini in Slides: Enhance presentations with the ability to create original images and slides in the side panel of Slides.
• Gemini in Forms: Quickly create forms and see AI summaries of responses.

Visit the Google Help Center for more information on new features. Features available to University faculty and staff appear in the Education Plus list with the exception of Google Vids, which is currently disabled for the University. 

Get Access to Gemini

Want to use Gemini? If you haven't already opted in to use Gemini with your University Google account, submit the Gemini Web Opt-in and Guidance form to get access. 

After submitting the form, you will have access to Gemini using your University account. Please give up to 15 minutes for your access to appear after filling out the opt-in form.

Note: Gemini App access will be available for anyone at the University that opts in, but the new Gemini Workspace integration features are only available for University faculty and staff.
