Acrobat Pro DC (Adobe)

General Information

Did you know that you can now install Adobe® Acrobat® Pro DC software on University-owned devices at no cost to your department? Pick the University-owned Device license type below for more information.

With Adobe® Acrobat Pro DC software you can:

  • Convert any document into a portable document format (PDF) file

  • Convert PDF files into other formats

  • Edit PDF files

  • Merge files into PDF format

  • Create web forms

If you only need to open and read .pdf's, you should download Adobe Acrobat Reader directly from Adobe, here.

To see if this software is available to you based on your affiliation with the University, change the selections below. Both fields are required.

For units supported by central IT

You can install Adobe Acrobat Pro DC by selecting the program from Advertised Programs or Software Center on your computer if your unit’s computers are supported by central IT.

For units not supported by central IT

  • Go to the Software Downloads page and select Office and Productivity.

  • In addition, you are now able to add the Acrobat software image to departmental images and install it on department-owned computers - go to the Software Downloads page and select Office and Productivity.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro X went End of Support on 10/15/17, for this reason OIT has removed v.11 from our download site.  If you have a business need to use v.11 send an email to help@umn.edu to request an exception, upon approval you will be sent a link to download it.

Use of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC through the University-wide contract:  

  • Ensures license compliance - no need to track purchases and installations.

  • Increases efficiency by no longer having to place orders for this product.

  • Saves on process charges and provides colleges with cost savings (previously $50+/year for individual installations up to $30,000/year for collegiate-wide installations

09/18/18: At this time Work at Home Rights for Adobe Acrobat Pro DC are not available through the University of Minnesota.  If you wish to acquire Adobe Acrobat Pro DC for personal use, you will need to acquire it from a vendor outside of the University of Minnesota.  This could change in the future, but as of now Acrobat Pro DC is not being offered as a Work at Home option through the University.

If you need to use this software exclusively for UMN related Teaching, Learning or Research AND you want to install it on a personally owned device, please change your Purchase Type (above) to 'University-owned device' and follow the prompts provided.
