Webex Teams: Set Yourself to Do Not Disturb

In the Clearspan Webex Teams (formerly Webex Engage) application for Voice Over IP (VoIP) phones, you can set yourself to Do Not Disturb if you need to temporarily silence calls and call notifications. If you do not see the Do Not Disturb option, verify your version is up to date.

Note: VoIP callers should be aware of certain restrictions to 911 calls. Visit z.umn.edu/voip911 for more information.

Setting Yourself to Do Not Disturb

You can set yourself to Do Not Disturb if you need to temporarily silence calls and call notifications.

  1. Sign in to your phone on Webex Teams.
  2. Select your Profile and preferences profile image/initials. A dropdown menu will appear.
  3. Select Availability
  4. Select the time period you want to set yourself to do not disturb for.
    • If the time period you want is not available, select Set a time and choose when you want to become available again.
      • Set a time sets your phone to do not disturb immediately. It stays on do not disturb until the time period you choose. For example, if you choose Tomorrow 10:30am then you will be on do not disturb from now until tomorrow at 10:30am.

Example results of previous steps

  1. A Set telephony Do Not Disturb message pops up.
  2. Select Cancel to close the message.
  3. Your status on your initials will change from a green circle available status to a red circle with a line through it Do not Disturb status to show you are on Do not Disturb.
  4. Your phone will automatically take you off of do not disturb when the time period you selected ends. Or you can manually take yourself off of do not disturb (on this page) at any time.

Note: After you have set yourself to Do not Disturb, you will not receive notifications for calls until Do not Disturb is turned off. However, if you are expecting a call during this time, you can open the Calling  menu to monitor incoming calls. Phone calls during Do not Disturb will appear in the Calling menu with a timer next to them showing how long the call has been waiting. You can click on the call to answer if needed. If you choose not to answer, the call will go to voicemail.
Example of phone that's on Do not Disturb and has the Calling menu open. A call is shown to have come in and be waiting. There is a timer next to the call showing how long the call has been waiting.
