Step-by-Step Guide: Sexual Misconduct Prevention and Response

This required one-hour educational module for employees provides information on identifying, preventing, and responding to sexual misconduct. For questions about enrollment, email [email protected].

Preparing for the Module

  • Use Chrome Google Chrome icon or Firefox Firefox icon
  • Use a computer, if possible.
    • If you are using a phone or tablet, use landscape mode.
    • The training will not work with Apple mobile devices (iPad, iPhone).
  • The module includes audio. You can use headsets, earbuds, or computer speakers. Closed captioning is also available.
  • You can complete this one-hour module in one sitting, or pause and come back to it later as long as you fully complete it by the due date.

Finding the Module

  1. Go to My Training in Training Hub.

  2. Find the Sexual Misconduct, Retaliation, and Discrimination Prevention and Response course.
    1. Select View Details.
    2. Select Launch Canvas Course

Notes:

  • If this course is not listed, either you have not yet been enrolled or you have already completed the course.
    • If you have not yet been enrolled, you will receive an email from [email protected] when you are enrolled. This typically happens on the first working day of the month following your hire.
    • If you have previously completed the course, it will appear on the Past Training tab of your My Training page.

Navigating the Module

  1. Select Start Course.

  2. Complete the three modules, interacting with content as directed.
    1. Each slide has an audio version of the written text. You can chose to listen to this or read the text, whichever you prefer.
    2. Some slides require you to select certain areas of the slide to find out more information before you can progress. 
    3. Some slides require you to answer questions about specific scenarios before you can progress.
  3. When you have completed all three modules, the final slide will direct you to record your completion by selecting Next.
    • Important: You must select Complete Course on the next page to get credit for completing this course.

Recording Completion

If you believe you have completed the course, but you are still receiving reminders to complete the course, or if your supervisor says you have not completed the course, you can  follow these instructions to ensure your completion has been recorded:

  1. Go to My Training in the Training Hub.
  2. Find the Sexual Misconduct, Discrimination, and Retaliation Prevention and Response course.
    1. Select View Details.
    2. Select Launch Canvas Course
    3. Select the big maroon button to Start Course.
    4. Select Resume.
    5. Select the maroon Next button.

  3. On the Post-course assessment and Completion page, select Complete Course.
  4. The completion page loads showing you are done with the educational module and your completion has been logged.

  5. Your supervisor and HR leads will see your completion within 1-2 hours.

Verifying Completion

You can go to the Training Hub at any time to verify your completion has been recorded.

  1. Go to My Training in the Training Hub.
  2. Select the Past Training tab.
    1. If necessary, search for "SMPP".
    2. If you have previously completed the course, you will find it under the Past Training tab with a completion date and the status of "Complete."

  3. If you do not find the course under the Past Training tab, switch to the Current Training tab.
    1. If necessary, search for "SMPP".
    2. If the course is listed on the Current Training tab, you need to complete the course.
      1. Go back into the module and ensure all parts are completed.
      2. Follow instructions to record completion.
