Wolfram Alpha Pro (Wolfram)

Instructions for Departments, Employees, and Students

This license is open to all current University of Minnesota faculty, staff, and students.

Create a Wolfram Account and Cancel Existing Subscriptions

If you don't already have an account:

1. Go to the Wolfram sign in page.
2. Select the Create one link next to Don't have a Wolfram ID?
3. Fill out the form and use your @umn.edu email address.
4. Select Create Wolfram ID.
5. Check your email. Open the message from Wolfram and select the link to validate your Wolfram ID.
6. If you already have a paid subscription for Wolfram or Alpha Pro, select Account in the sidebar of any result page.
7. Select the Cancel button next to the subscription you would like to cancel.

Request Access to Wolfram Alpha Pro

1. Go to the request access form and complete it.
2. You will see a notice to check your email. The email can take up to five minutes to arrive, but you can go on to the next step before that.
3. Go to the Wolfram Alpha page.
4. Select the Sign in button.
5. Sign in with the email address you associated with your UMN Wolfram account. [Is this correct?]
6. You might need to sign out and back in again to fully activate Wolfram Alpha Pro.

Validate Your License Annually

Wolfram Alpha Pro licenses need to be re-validated 365 days after initial activation. If you are currently enrolled or employed and you lose the Pro functionality:

1. Go to the request access form and complete it again.
2. Check your email. Open the message from Wolfram and select the link to validate your Wolfram ID.

Note: The Search page currently does not say Pro. However, once you perform a search and are directed to your results page, you will see that you are indeed within the Pro version. Additionally, the four icons that appear below the search bar will be usable instead of directing you to upgrade to Pro.
