    Units Supported by Central IT

If your unit’s computers are supported by central IT on the Twin Cities campus:

    1. See prices on the OIT Adobe Creative Cloud VIP Part Numbers and Costs Google sheet.
    2. Follow the instructions on the Adobe Creative Cloud Ordering Process for OIT Supported Units Google Doc to place your order through this TDX Request form.

If you are not able to log into the order form page, it is likely you are not in a UMTC department or your unit is not supported by central IT. Follow the instructions below.

    Other Units

    1. Go to the UMarket site.
    2. Purchase Creative Cloud from our preferred vendor, CDWG. Purchase instructions are available on the Financial Training site under Purchasing/U Market and on the U Market Training Material page.

If you purchase or have already purchased through another reseller:

    1. Send an email to [email protected].
    2. State that you would like your Adobe Purchase VIP Agreement linked with the OIT VIP Agreement.
    3. Include your VIP number and agreement name.

The OIT Software Licensing team will work with Adobe to link your Adobe Purchase VIP Agreement (existing or new) to theirs, so you receive the best discount, which is Level 4.

Creative Cloud Instructions for Employees and Students

Students and staff/faculty can purchase Adobe Creative Cloud licenses for personal use through Adobe on the Adobe Creative Cloud for students and teachers page. Do NOT use your University of Minnesota email address to create an Adobe ID when buying a Adobe Creative Cloud license through Adobe directly.

If your department is purchasing your Adobe Creative Cloud license and you are installing it on personally-owned device, follow the Creative Cloud Instructions for Departments above.

    License Types

There are two types of Creative Cloud license subscriptions available for purchase:

    Named/User License

This allows you to install the software on up to 2 devices for one user. This is the most commonly purchased license for departmental staff. Full Creative Suite Named-user licenses also include:

    • Adobe ExtendScript Toolkit
    • Adobe Scout
    • Behance
    • Dimension (3D)
    • Edge Inspect
    • Edge Web Fonts
    • Gaming SDK
    • PhoneGap Build
    • Story Plus
    • Typekit desktop fonts (these are not available for Device licenses)
    • Xd (web design and prototyping)

    Shared Device License

This type is for one device only but can be used by multiple users on that one device. Each user will need to use or create their own Adobe ID to log in. This license is commonly purchased for classroom or computer lab use. Please be aware that devices must connect to Adobe servers for initial activation, and then at least once every 99 days until the end of the subscription term.

    Internet Connection Requirements

    • You can use the apps in offline mode with a valid software license for a limited period.
    • The apps attempt to validate your software license every 30 days.
    • You receive a reminder to reconnect to the Internet to validate your license after the first 30 days, then another after the 2nd 30 days, then sometime between days 60 and 69 daily warnings appear for another 30 to 39 days, at which time the software will stop if you are not able to get back online to revalidate.

    Terms and Conditions

General Technology Products Terms & Conditions apply to this software license. If additional terms and conditions apply to this item, they will be listed below.
