Overview
Adobe Creative Cloud provides apps, web services, and resources for creative projects — photography, graphic design, video editing, UX design, drawing and painting, social media, and more.
Getting Access
Access to software licensed by the University is based on University affiliation and sometimes the device on which the software is installed.
It is your responsibility to make sure you are using the software in accordance with the University's Acceptable Use of Information Technology Resources policy and software terms and conditions, plus any vendor terms listed below.

License Details
If your unit’s computers are supported by central IT on the Twin Cities campus:
- See prices on the OIT Adobe Creative Cloud VIP Part Numbers and Costs Google sheet.
- Follow the instructions on the Adobe Creative Cloud Ordering Process for OIT Supported Units Google Doc to place your order through the Adobe TDX request form.
If you are not able to log into the order form page, it is likely you are not in a UMTC department or your unit is not supported by central IT. Follow the instructions for University-owned devices below.
There are two types of Creative Cloud license subscriptions available for purchase:
Named/User License
This allows you to install the software on up to 2 devices for one user.
Shared Device License
This type is for one device only but can be used by multiple users on that one device. Each user will need to use or create their own Adobe ID to log in. This license is commonly purchased for classroom or computer lab use.

- Please note that any use of PHI within the tools associated with this license is a violation of University policy. If you have questions about whether data or items constitute PHI, please reach out to HIPCO at [email protected]. Do not use Adobe Storage as it is not HIPAA compliant and Adobe will not enter into a BAA for our VIP agreement.

How to Get It

License Details
If your unit’s computers are not supported by central IT on the Twin Cities campus:
- Go to the U Market site.
- Purchase Creative Cloud from our preferred vendor, CDW-G. Purchase instructions are available on the Financial Training site under Purchasing/U Market and on the U Market Training Material page.
- If you need assistance with finding a part number for a Creative Cloud License, please email Matt Lubawski at CDW-G. Matt will need to set you up with your own VIP agreement.

Do not use your University of Minnesota email address to create an Adobe ID when buying a Adobe Creative Cloud license through Adobe directly.
If your department is purchasing your Adobe Creative Cloud license and you are installing it on personally-owned device, follow the instructions for University-managed and -owned devices above.
