Jadu Connect: Transition a Case to a Normal Status (Task 7)

This is the seventh of nine tasks for setting up your Jadu Central forms to work with Jadu Connect. Please go to the Self-Help Guide, under the Configure a Jadu Connect Workflow column, for more information.

This article explains how to transition your Jadu Connect case to a new status when a user submits a Jadu Central form.

For example, when a supply request is approved, you want to apply the Approve transition so that the case moves to the Approved status in Jadu Connect.

Note: Complete the following steps in Jadu Central in the subsequent form for your workflow process.

Step 1: Setting Up an Action Template to Transition the Jadu Connect Case

  1. Go to the Templates tab.
  2. Click New Template.The New Action Template window appears.
    1. Template type: Under the Connect section header, select Transition Case and click Next
    2. Enter a meaningful title for the template (ex: Transition Case - Approve) and click Next
    3. From the Case Type dropdown, select your case type that this form is associated to and click Next
    4. Select the Jadu Connect transition from your case type you want to apply and click Next
    5. In the Mappings section, under the Case Reference dropdown, select the Case Information - Case Number field from the integrated component on your landing page from Task 4.

    6. The fields that you added to the Connect Normal Form and linked to your transition in Task 6 will show up in the Mappings section as well. Choose the appropriate Jadu Central data in the fields on the right side to send to each Jadu Connect field listed on the left.

    • Note: If a Jadu Connect field is not listed, go to your Case Type setup and add the missing fields to your Jadu Connect Normal Case Form that's linked to this transition.
  3. Click Save.

Step 2: Creating or Updating a Rule to Transition the Jadu Connect Case

Create a new rule or update an existing rule to update the Jadu Connect case. If you have more than one rule in your form that runs based on different conditions, update the rule(s) in the correct order for transitioning the Jadu Connect case to a normal status.

  1. Go to the Rules tab.
  2. Click New Rule.
    • Or, select the rule you wish to update.
  3. Enter a meaningful title for your rule.
  4. Choose a When statement.
  5. Add a Then statement.
    1. From the dropdown menu, under the Connect section header, select Transition Case
    2. Select the template from Setting Up an Action Template to Transition the Jadu Connect Case.

  6. Click Save.
