Canvas: Set Your Preferred Name in Your Canvas Profile

You can change your Display Name in your Canvas account settings so your preferred name appears in discussions, messages, and comments. Your Full Name as specified in your Canvas settings will continue to be used for grading.

• You can also Add Your Personal Pronouns to Your Canvas Profile.

Setting your preferred name in Canvas

1. Click Account in Global Navigation, then click the Settings link.
   
2. Click the Edit Settings button.
   
3. Go to the Display Name and enter your preferred name. 
   
4. Click Update Settings. Your Display Name now shows your preferred name in your User Settings.
