Rapid Prototyping

Rapid prototyping is a helpful approach when you want feedback on an early design. At this stage, the design can be on paper or screen. This approach allows for several short sessions with users where you can gather feedback and issues and make quick changes.

There are two approaches to rapid prototyping, depending on the flexibility of your design:

  • After each participant, your team takes what was discovered and makes a few changes to the prototype. Then, test the changes with another participant. Repeat 3-5 times.

  • You hold 4 sessions on one day, testing the same prototype. Then, you take away the feedback, issues, and solutions for a week to make changes. Finally, you return the following week to test the changes with 4 more users.

If you are interested in putting an early design in front of your users, please fill out the Usability Services Request Form, and we will be in contact within one business day.
