When a Canvas course has a large number of enrolled learners, performance can be negatively impacted. Based on recommendations from the vendor, it is best if a single Canvas course have no more than 10,000 learners enrolled.
There is a feature in Training Hub that gives a Training Admin the ability to flag a section as one that may have more than 10,000 learners. When enabled, five Canvas course sites are created and are associated with the Training Hub Course Section. On enrollment, learners will be evenly distributed in the five Canvas course sites. On the roster, each learner will have a Canvas button displayed that will open the Canvas course site that they are enrolled in.
