TDX: Search for a Ticket

There are several ways to search for tickets in TeamDynamix. Each ticket, no matter what ticket classification it is, receives its own ticket identification number. This article covers the following searches:

Searching by Ticket Number

If you know the ticket ID number, you can use the global search area in the top right area of the U of M Ticketing application to search for the ticket. You do not need to include what classification (incident, request, etc.) it is; just type in the ID number.

  1. Go to U of M Tickets in TDNext.
  2. Type the ticket number in the ID/Search box.
U of M tickets tab; search box highlighted
  3. Press Enter or click the Lookup Ticket. The ticket will open in a popup window.

Searching with the Filter

You can also search for tickets based on their various ticket fields.

  1. Type your search terms in the ID/Search field or leave the field blank and press Enter.  The Filter icon will appear below the search field.
  2. Click the Filter button. A filter options pane appears from the right listing all the ticket fields associated with the ticket type.

    3. Click Save.

Searching by Name or Internet ID

When searching for tickets by ticket number in the TDX search box, the ticket will automatically come up regardless of status if it is in the system. When searching by name or Internet ID, TDX will present a list of open tickets. It will not show you tickets that are resolved. This section shows how to find previously resolved tickets and may help with other searches as well.

  1. Go to U of M Tickets dashboard in tdx.umn.edu.
  2. Type the name or Internet ID into the ID/search box.
  3. Press Enter or click the Lookup Ticket. The main TDX window will display a list of any open tickets.
  4. If there are no results or the ticket you are looking for is not, you will need to adjust the filter. Start by clicking filter results button.
  5. Click the Current Status dropdown and select [Select All].
TDX interface, search filter interface, with Current Status dropdown expanded and [Select All] highlighted
  6. Click Apply. All tickets associated with the user will appear in the main window.
    1. If you would like to only find tickets on which the user was the Requestor, enter the Internet ID in the Requestor field in filter results. You may have to use the Lookup button to get TDX to recognize the Internet ID.
    2. Click Apply to apply any additional changes you have made to the filter.
