Perceptive Content: Set up a Connection Profile

Sometimes when Windows Update runs, it will accidentally delete the saved connection profile settings from within Perceptive Content. When this happens, it can result in one of two error messages, "The network connection to ImageNow Server has been disconnected." or "No Connection Profile Exists."

  1. Open Perceptive Content to the log-in screen.
  2. Click << Connection Profiles in the upper left-hand corner.
Perceptive Content client window. The Connection Profiles button in the upper left is highlighted.
  3. Click Edit connection profiles on the bottom of the Connection Profiles window.
  4. Click Create... in the pop-up window.
  5. Enter the following information in the next pop-up window:
    • Name: UMN Prod
    • Server ID: imageprd.oit.umn.edu
    • Server Type: Production
    • Port Number: 6000
  6. Click OK to close the New Connection Profile window
  7. Click OK again to close the Connection Profiles window
  8. You should now be able to log-in with your University of Minnesota Internet ID and password.
    • If you receive an error about your user name upon signing in, you can update your password by doing the following:
      1. Return to the Connection Profiles window.
      2. Select the UMN Prod profile to edit.
      3. Move the User Name radio button from Remember last successful user name to Always prompt.
      4. Attempt to sign in with your updated password.

If you still cannot log in or experience other issues, please contact Technology Help through any of the means found at it.umn.edu/help.
