OIT Hosted Virtual Machine: Authenticate with Duo

Unless you have an SSH key in place, you will need to follow the steps below to authenticate with DUO when connecting to an OIT-managed virtual machine.

Example Duo Authentication Prompt

Duo two-factor login for username

Enter a passcode or select one of the following options:

1. Duo Push to XXX-XXX-0123
2. Phone call to XXX-XXX-0123

Passcode or option (1-2):

Authenticating with a Duo Push

1. Type 1.
2. Press Enter or Return.
3. Duo will send a push to the listed smartphone.

Authenticating with a Phone Call

1. Type 2.
2. Press Enter or Return.
3. Duo will call the listed phone number.

Authenticating with a Passcode

1. Type the passcode showing in the Duo Mobile app.
2. Press Enter or Return.
