Google Assignments (LTI 1.3) is the way to create an assignment based on a resource in Google Drive. You can use the Google integration to create an online assignment that embeds a document directly from your Google Drive folder. Google Assignments (LTI 1.3) supports file types including Documents, Sheets, Slides, and Drawings.
You will be asked to choose between grading with Google or grading with Canvas SpeedGrader.
Choose to grade with Canvas SpeedGrader because:
- Google grading will ignore Canvas grade-posting policies.
- Google will ignore notification preferences students have set and immediately send grades to students.
- Google links live Google files, allowing the possibility that students may alter them after submission.
- SpeedGrader takes a snapshot of the assignment file that can't be altered by the student after submission.
- SpeedGrader follows the workflow you are accustomed to.
