You can log in AppsToGo using either Citrix Workspace or the Citrix light version. Use this article for steps to log in using either method.
- If you are able to download and use the full Citrix Workspace client, please continue to do so as it provides full functionality and an improved experience.
- You can also access AppsToGo without downloading the Citrix client, using the Citrix light version. Users who are unable to run the Citrix Workspace client on their device can opt for the light version of the client and use your web browser, such as Firefox or Chrome, to open apps.
Notes:
- Citrix light does not provide direct access to the local drives. Use the full Citrix Workspace client for direct access to local storage.
- There is a known issue with launching Cloud Desktops via Citrix Light. Use the full Citrix Workspace client if you are accessing the Cloud Desktops.

Signing In Using Citrix Workspace
Accessing AppsToGo using Citrix Workspace is recommended. Refer to Install Citrix Workspace for instructions on installing the client on your device. If you already have the full Citrix Workspace installed, you can sign in using the Detect Receiver option.
- Go to apps.umn.edu and log in.
- You will be prompted to select the type of client you want to use. Select Detect Receiver.

- You will be prompted to open Citrix Workspace Launcher. You may select:
- Open, or
- Cancel, then Already Installed

Note: Both options indicate you have the full Citrix Workspace client installed and you will be redirected to the AppsToGo portal.
Modifying Your Citrix Receiver Selection
Once you have made a receiver selection, you can modify your Receiver selection at any time.
- Expand the Settings menu (gear icon) next to your name in the portal.

- Select Account Settings from the dropdown. A new page opens with your account settings.
- Under Advanced, choose Change Citrix Receiver.

Signing in Using the Citrix Light Version
When you use the light version of AppsToGo, applications will launch in a new tab of your web browser, such as Chrome or Firefox. Use this option if you are unable to install the Citrix client on your device.
- Go to apps.umn.edu and log in.
- You will be prompted to select the type of client you want to use. Select Use light version.

- You may be prompted to allow pop-ups. You can check Don't ask me again to prevent future prompts and select OK.
- Note: If you use multiple monitors you will need to allow pop-ups in your browser settings.

- The Citrix menu is available in the Application tab of your browser window.
