Anyone on the Internet may search for University Web pages using Web search.
Top-level collegiate and non-academic units within the University may create customized search interfaces to allow searching only within their organizations' Web sites.
Currently, custom searches are available only to collegiate and non-academic units at the top organizational level. You must have the authority to designate members of your organization as search managers--typically, this means you are an information technology manager or the supervisor of your organization's Web development team. Due to the sensitive nature of search manager privileges, we will require your college dean or department head to approve your application.
If you are not eligible for a custom search page, you may still use the Search Appliance by adding a search form to your Web site.
