Canvas: Add a Page to the Student To Do List

You can associate a date with a Canvas page so that it shows up in a student's To Do list, Syllabus, and Calendar, just as Assignments do.

This feature is particularly useful when you want to create a reading assignment that students need to read by a certain time but you do not want to appear as a gradebook item. 

Adding a Page to the student to-do list

1. Create a new Page in your course site.
2. Link, embed, or display the reading assignment on the page as a PDF.
3. Click the Add to student to-do box.
   
4. Use the calendar tool to the right of the date field to set a date for the page, communicating to students that they are responsible for knowing the content of that page by that date.
