New Date for PeopleTools Upgrade to 8.60: June 8-9, 2024

MyU and PeopleSoft will be unavailable during the PeopleTools upgrade on June 8-9

The previously communicated upgrade of the PeopleSoft development platform—PeopleTools—to version 8.60 has a new target upgrade window: Saturday, June 8, and Sunday, June 9. Please update your calendars so you can plan around the service outage accordingly.

The previously-planned April upgrade window was revised to accommodate other institutional priorities.

As a reminder, this upgrade helps our PeopleSoft systems remain stable and secure, and it ensures we retain Oracle support.

Impact

  • MyU and PeopleSoft applications, and some applications dependent on PeopleSoft, will be unavailable while the upgrade is in progress. More detail will be available in subsequent messages.
  • Aside from downtime during the weekend, no significant impact is expected.
  • The project team continues to work with business partners to conduct testing and coordinate the specific timing of the upgrade.
  • Business partners need to coordinate with integration partners for testing. If a system you manage integrates with PeopleSoft, someone from the business process area will reach out to you to coordinate testing.
  • The upgrade will deliver an accessibility enhancement: a self-service control to enable screen reader mode for end users.

Communications

We will provide periodic updates—stay tuned for future communications and final confirmation of the upgrade weekend.

The planned maintenance and service disruption will be communicated broadly to the University community, systemwide through the Brief newsletter and MyU, in the weeks leading up to the event.

During the upgrade weekend, updates will be available on the University’s Service Status page
