Workflow Consortium

Mission

To provide an active, collaborative, user group and business process owner for WorkflowGen (WFG), the University’s enterprise workflow product. To set WFG priorities, help identify and resolve problems, provide a transparent communications conduit between participating units, and share information and expertise.

Join the Workflow Consortium

Join the WorkflowGen mailing list by sending an email with "subscribe workflowgen-list" in the body of the message to [email protected].  The mailing list will have meeting times, announcements, and product and technical discussions

Meetings

The WorkflowGen consortium usually meeting on the fourth Tuesday of every month.  Information on the time and location is available on the calendar or you can subscribe to the WorkflowGen Calendar.

Purpose

The purpose of the Workflow Consortium is to provide administrative oversight and to share user experience insight. The Workflow Consortium will serve the following functions:

Managing WFG

The WorkflowGen Consortium:

  • is the user group for the campus-wide workflow management tool.
  • is the advocacy group for implementing business process improvement for enterprise workflow on campus.
  • is the consultative group guiding the implementation of this tool.
  • is the shared resource repository for WFG, tracking the development of the product and documenting the shared experience of our user community.
  • provides a group of users who can provide quick user acceptance testing for new features.
  • cultivates a collaborative model-- we aim to develop a hybrid of common good and shared service delivery that:
    • builds innovation governance.
    • creates pathways for WFG priority setting.
    • creates a co-op of resources, including human resources.

Supporting an Enterprise Solution

The WorkflowGen Consortium:

  • is the forum for communicating issues, expressing user business needs, and sharing solutions.
  • is the communications conduit to additional constituents within the participating units.
  • develops the University's capacity to redesign and implement improved business processes.
  • builds a shared library of Business Process Automation aids and leverages University resources in that effort.
