In the upper right corner of your screen, there should be a series of arched bars that represent a wireless connection. This is the AirPort Status icon. You click on this icon to change AirPort networks, turn the AirPort card On or Off, and change your "network preferences." If you do not see this icon, it could be an indication that the AirPort card is not properly installed.
If you do not see the AirPort Status icon, first try running the Internet Connect application:
Double-click Macintosh HD.
Click the Applications folder.
Click the Configuration menu and select AirPort. The icon is displayed.
If the AirPort option is not found in the Configuration menu, then it is likely that the AirPort card is not installed properly.
If the Internet Connect application indicates that the AirPort power is turned Off, you can simply click Turn AirPort On to activate the card. The Network should be set to UofM or UofM Secure.
Configure Your Wireless Connection to Use TCP⁄IP
Click the Apple menu and select System Preferences.
Select Network. Make sure that the Show menu is set to AirPort .
