WebEx: Automatically Connect to Audio Using Your Computer
If you regularly attend WebEx meetings from a desktop computer, you can save time by setting your preferences to automatically connect to the audio conference using your computer. When you select this feature, you will no longer need to manually connect to the audio conference.
Setting Up WebEx Audio Preferences
Login to WebEx (umn.webex.com) using your Internet ID and password.
Select the My WebEx tab at the top.
In the left navigation bar, click Preferences.
Click Set up to expand the Audio preferences.
Check the box next to Automatically connect to audio using computer.
This feature is only available for meetings hosted on umn.webex.com. If you are attending meetings hosted outside of the University, you will still need to select how to join the audio conference as you join each meeting.
You must be logged in for the automatic audio connection to be enabled. If you attending meetings hosted by other University faculty or staff, make sure to login to WebEx (umn.webex.com) prior to joining the meeting.
You will still be able to set up meetings using WebEx Audio for meetings where a call-in number is needed.
If this preference is checked, it will only automatically connect meetings that you join from desktop computers. If you also join meetings from a tablet or mobile device using the WebEx app, you will still need to select how to join the audio conference as you join each meeting.
