Google is retiring the Google Search Appliance at the end of 2018. In anticipation, the University of Minnesota will adopt Google's Custom Search Engine. Please contact email@example.com with questions about this change.
Within the life cycle of any website there are likely to be changes to the domain name. Since the Google Search Appliance relies exclusively on URL patterns to crawl and index sites, changing your site’s domain can result in your collection no longer showing results.
When making changes to your domain name, be sure to inform the Collaboration and Web Content Services team so that they can update the GSA’s crawl to include the site. Also be sure to adjust your collection to include the new URL patterns.
Examples of changes are:
Adding or removing ‘www’ from your site URL
Changing to a different protocol (i.e., forcing all traffic to https when it was previously http)
