Tony Leisen

Academic Technologist

I joined the University of Minnesota’s Academic Technology Support Services team in 2016. In my role as an academic technologist, I collaborate with faculty and staff to plan, develop, and facilitate classes utilizing academic technology. With the thoughtful integration of technology, I aim to engage students and help foster a deeper understanding of key course concepts.

Background

Prior to joining the University of Minnesota, I worked for nearly a decade in similar roles at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania and Iowa State University. Before transitioning to academia, I worked for a media production company creating instructional videos for several years.

When I’m not at work, you’ll find me outside hiking, running, or festival-going with my family (wife, son, and dogs) or inside messing around with computers or other electronics.
