A large part of my work as a member of the Academic Technology Tools team is assisting with the maintenance and modifications of Canvas, Moodle, and the associated systems, such as Destiny One, and Learning Tools.
I grew up in a military family and served for 20 years myself. I have worked on three continents and in many positions of operations, management, support, analysis, and even some low-level programming. After my military service I have spent over 24 years in many different projects as an analyst. With just over two years in Academia now, I was originally hired to specifically bring in a non-academic type analysis skill set in anticipation of continued software support and development of the LMS and other tools.
My education started in Aviation Management, Personnel Management, and then I obtained a masters certificate in Information Systems Management. I was trained in low-level programming, analyst, testing, and technical writing of specifications, support, and RFPs in the markets of aviation, high-end Retail, Statewide Child Support systems, Statewide Medicaid Management Systems, Hotel Startup operations, automated warehousing, and evaluation of website design.
Freetime: Travel, church, supporting military personnel and families, and visiting multi-generational family members across the USA.
