Source Code Management

Access source code management tools used to track and share code.

The University provides access to two source code management systems that developers can use to track and share code:

  • Artifactory - A universal binary repository for storing files produced through software development and modern deployment pipelines.
  • GitHub - GitHub is a hosting service for Git repositories. Git is the version control system. The University hosts a private GitHub Enterprise instance for use by students, faculty, and staff.

University of Minnesota students, faculty, and staff with an Internet ID and Active Directory access can use the service. Non-University employees may be granted a sponsored account.

When requesting the sponsored account, be sure to check the box for Active Directory as it is not checked by default. For details, see the Service Summary.
