Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite (Lucid)
The Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite includes Lucidchart and Lucidspark.
Lucidchart is an online diagram application that makes it easy to sketch and share professional flowchart diagrams. Since Lucidchart is a web-based program, it can be a good solution for Mac users who are not able to use Visio.
Lucidspark is a virtual whiteboard that helps remote teams ideate and collaborate online. Use Lucidspark to brainstorm, collaborate, and turn your ideas into action.
If you are not a Mac user, Visio licenses have been purchased for a number of departments on campus. See if a license was purchased for you.

The Free EDU license includes:
- Unlimited diagrams
- Unlimited objects per diagram
- Visio Import and Export ability
- You can sync your Lucidchart account with your UMN Google Drive space and save diagrams within a Lucidchart Drive folder
- Diagrams can be saved in your personal Lucidchart space
- One year license that you will be prompted to renew when it is ready to expire
Lucid Suite EDU Enterprise
If you have more robust diagramming needs or want to collaborate with others, you might want a Lucid Suite Higher Education Enterprise license. This would include both Lucidchart and Lucidspark. The cost starts around $175.00 per license, and goes down with the number of licenses your department purchases.
