Request Item: Computer Lab Software and Settings

This request item is available for departments or organizations to request the installation of software or other custom configurations. All other questions should be directed to the Technology Helpline.

You may use the Software Packaging & Deployment form to submit a request immediately. Go to the Software Purchasing & Licensing service and click on the Request Service button in the right sidebar to submit a request.

Request Procedure

Request is Submitted

Please review the request item description carefully for pertinent information. Once you have reviewed the request and prepared the required items, submitting the request will begin Stage 1: In Evaluation

Stage 1: In Evaluation

In this stage, your request is being reviewed and the licenses you provided are being confirmed. A specialist will contact you in the case of a complication. The typical completion time of this stage is three business days.

Actions Required: None, as long as you are not contacted directly.

Stage 2: In Fulfillment

In this stage, your request has been verified and the software or configuration change is being tested. The typical completion time of this stage is six business days.

Actions Required: None, as long as you are not contacted directly.

Stage 3: Delivery

In this stage, the change you requested is being deployed to computer labs. The typical completion time of this stage is five business days.

On the Public Computer Labs and the Academic Computer Lab pages you will find links to all the computer labs where you can see lists all software already available in computer labs managed by IT@UMN.
